Martha Lara (aka Marthx), born and raised in Oceanside, is a xicanx, non-binary, cancer survivor, multimedia artist, and educator.

 

Marthx studied Latin American & Latino Studies and Studio Arts receiving degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

 

Marthx’s work explores the intricate interplay of self-discovery, identity, and community, with themes of compassion, resilience, and grief.

 

Martha currently works as an arts educator to local youth in Oceanside, hoping to plant more seeds of art appreciation and encourage self-expression.
